On the left is a bus/bicycle lane leading to a bike box. The bike box gives bicyclists a head start when the light turns, it also gives bicyclists more visibility, preventing a common accident of motorists turning right into cyclists going straight.


The large expanse of sidewalk makes this an ideal place for the sidewalk bike lane.





You know when a city cares about its pedestrians and cyclists when you see a bridge just for them.


Another bike box, you can see how important it is in front of this right turn only lane. This bike lane has small bollards on the side, perhaps to prevent motorists from driving in the bike lane. Notice the chevron bike markings as the lane crosses the intersection, adds more safety and emphasis to motorists.
